Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
Possession of a stolen vehicle under North Carolina General Statute 20-106 occurs when a person (1) possesses (2) a vehicle (3) knowing, or with reasonable grounds to believe, that it was stolen or unlawfully taken.
Possession of a stolen vehicle is a class H felony with a maximum punishment under the law of 39 months incarceration.
